Some of the 2023 interior design trends are good old classics and some are bold and daring , explore how you can elevate your creativity, mix & match colour and design trends to create a space and colour theme that resonates with you, your personality and your home…
NOSTALGIC
A yearning for the past, this trend will see vintage furniture being repurposed and made new again which is a very cost effective and fun way of making changes in your home. In line with a more environmentally friendly mindset, people are moving away from fast furniture towards more sustainable pieces so homes will be curated with a mix of antiques and modern items.
Alongside mid-century furniture and art deco vibes, we will also see the use of raw materials and neutral colours making a comeback. For more ideas on design trends for this year, click here https://www.elledecor.com/design-decorate/trends/a42221755/interior-design-trends-2023/
NATURAL MATERIALS
Natural materials like wood and stone, as well as natural fibres like wool and linen, are classics that never go out of style. Wood complements a warm colour palette and adds depth and cosiness to a room. In terms of décor, handcrafted ceramics and pottery are trending, as people embrace one-of-a-kind artisanal pieces. It is a celebration of imperfection with organic shapes and uneven textures. Home decorating with natural materials is in keeping with the trend towards sustainability and bringing the outdoors inside.
GENTLE GOLD and BRASS
Golden hues in interiors are hot and complement both traditional neutrals as well as moody colour tones. Gold tones have been trending for a few years but are still strong in 2023 and as such we will be seeing more gold-tone furniture and lighting as well as gold and brass on trims and hardware like door handles. Gold is a reflective surface that bounces light back into a room and has the ability to add a touch of sparkle and glitz to your home when done tastefully.
LIGHT and LIGHTING
Obviously filling your home with lots of natural light is first prize for boosting those serotonin levels but artificial lighting trends are going to be super exciting going forward. Now days there are a multitude of lighting options – over-sized pendant lighting and chandeliers will reign supreme in 2023 according to Sarah Lyon at The Spruce https://www.thespruce.com/2023-lighting-trends-6891412.
ORGANIC COLOUR PALETTE
Some people prefer timeless and classic paint colours while others are willing to try out more vibrant colour tones. Either way, a nature-inspired colour palette remains popular with its warm and welcoming earthy tones.
