The 1st Annual Amatyma Heritage Summit held on 24 September 2024, at the Eyethu multipurpose centre – Mapengo Street, Mofolo Central, Soweto. It was a gathering to honour and explore the traditions, history, and customs of the Amatyma community. This event brought together individuals passionate about preserving and sharing the unique heritage of Amatyma.
Universal Paints Protea Glen participated in this event which had over 400 attendees. They succeeded in creating brand awareness to the residence of Soweto and reinforcing the message that the branch is just around the corner and the team is eager to supply expert advice and service to their community. They also sponsored tickets to the value of R5K and enjoyed discussing the value of Universal Paints products with the attendees.
The attendees enjoyed engaging panel discussions on Amatyma traditions, cultural performances by local artists, traditional food tastings, and interactive workshops on heritage preservation led by experts in Amatyma heritage. Whether long-time advocates for cultural preservation or simply curious to learn more, this summit offered something for everyone.
