Here’s some updates from one of our beneficiaries, Mama Afrika. The New Year had hardly begun when Mama Engelina Molete from Dobsonville, Soweto, was already hard at work to clean her bakery for a fresh start. All the workers helped to ensure that the bakery was cleaned from top to bottom, inside and out, so it could be spick and span.

Last year Mama Engelina bought a small delivery truck, and even though she was held up in her bakery and had all her income stolen, it has just made her more determined to work hard and make a difference in her community.

After heavy rains, Mama Nolitha Ndalasi from Khayelitsha took it upon herself to clean her big garden. She got youngsters from the community and all of them got stuck in. It’s a very big yard and mama Nolitha decided to not only clean the area to plant vegetable seeds, but also the area where the containers for her new bakery will be placed. Exciting times!
